When and where did you first play hockey?

I believe Jonty had a hockey stick in my hand from birth, but probably was in P2 going to North Down youth sections on a Sunday.

Have you played for any other hockey clubs?

Absolutely not, white and navy loyal.

How long have you been at North Down?

As said earlier I first started in P2 at the youth scheme and have played for the club the whole way up so roughly 16 years.

Do you have any personal ambitions in hockey?

To win more silverware with North Down and of course to finish top scorer every year.

What has been your best moment at North Down?

A few years ago when we won the IHT, one of the best weekends of my life.

Who has been your favourite player to play with at North Down and why?

There have been a couple. I loved getting a year to play with Jonty and loved playing on the third’s deadly strike force with Sco and Marky. But I think I have to pick Phil Wilson. He is a joy to play with, incredible player and very selfless which suits me greatly!

What is your least favourite team to play against?

Probably ****…. I just hate everything about the club.  (Editor’s note – as this is the last men’s profile in the current series Josh’s nomination ties with ***** as the men’s least favourite opposition team)!

Who in your North Down team would you want, and who not, on your quiz team?

I would definitely want Adgey as his team have won for the last 2 years. I wouldn’t want Robbie Davidson, he is too young to go up for a round of drinks!

Do you follow a particular football team?

I do indeed, the mighty Liverpool.

What other sports are you interested in and do you play any other sports?

I play cricket for North Down also, and I play golf and football more leisurely. I enjoy and will give a go at most sports to be honest.

What is your favourite personal sporting moment and a favourite all time sporting one?

Favourite personal one would be winning the IHT. Favourite all time moment is Liverpool’s comeback in the semi final of last year’s Champions League, I lost my voice shouting at the TV, it was amazing.

Have you a personal goal you want to achieve like climbing Everest, learning a musical instrument etc?

I have always wanted to slap the bass guitar, think it looks so cool.

What is the best holiday you have ever had?

I love my trips to La Manga, but probably last year when I went to Salou with Cora is my personal favourite.

Where is your ideal holiday location?

Hawaii, I’ve always wanted to go there as it looks amazing.

What type of music do you like?

I have quite differing music tastes. I love my Blink-182 and Greenday, but also love Westlife and Busted. And I of course have a soft spot for Kenny Rodgers and The Gambler, my karaoke classic.

What is your favourite TV programme?

How I Met Your Mother, must have watched it about 15 times through. The US office is a close second though.

What is your favourite movie?

I love all the Marvel films, Endgame was genuinely one of the best films I’ve seen. But all time favourite is probably I love you, Man.

Have you a favourite book you have read again?

I only read on holiday and when I do it tends to be an autobiography so I will say Kevin Pietersen’s book, it was certainly an interesting read.

What is your favourite food and drink?

Favourite food is Spaghetti Bolognese, favourite drink is probably just a coke for non alcoholic and Canadian Molson beer for alcoholic.

Full cream, semi-skimmed or skimmed milk?

Semi skimmed all the way.

If you could invite four people, living or dead, to a dinner party who would they be?

Number 1 would be my idol Lucas Leiva, then I would probably bring Paul Rudd as he’s my favourite actor, Shane Filan (lead singer of Westlife) and Dustin Johnson.

What did you do to stay fit during the coronavirus break?

I have been doing a bit of running, a bit of cycling and more recently playing a bit of football.
