Under 15 girls in competitive action

There were two Under 15 girls teams in action on Sunday, all enjoying their first competitive run out of the season.

The Performance team played Civil Service in the league and played with great determination, showed some lovely skills and passing for their first outing as a team together. The score line of a 3-1 loss did not reflect the game as play was end to end and the Comber girls were unfortunate not to convert some of their chances. Sophie Hoey scored the North Down goal from a super strike at the edge of the circle. There were many notable performances but to mention a few, Kate McConnell worked tirelessly in centre midfield, Eilidgh, Angelique and player of the match Zara had solid games in defence while Hannah pulled off some fabulous saves in goals.

The Development team played the Harlequins A Squad in their Plate draw. From the outset this was going to be a very tough match. The North Down girls played with heart and showed great character as they sustained lots of pressure. Midfield worked back to support the defence as they all dug deep and tackled tirelessly together. Amy Powell in nets had a blazing game. Unfortunately with so much attack the goals began to slip in but the girls all fought right to the final whistle. Big well done to the girls for their teamwork and determination. Well deserved player of the match award to Hannah McBratney.
