Ladies fourths out of the Junior Plate

The ladies fourths travelled to The Dub to meet Pegasus fourths last Saturday in the Junior Plate. Within two minutes North Down found themselves 1-0 down from a soft penalty corner. As they made their way back for the restart thoughts of a cricket score were on the cards. To their credit, North Down pulled up their socks and created a number of chances throughout the game. However they came up against a Pegasus keeper in full control of her net and who blocked every strike.

The pattern continued into the second half and with time running out the fourths had a great chance to pull level.  With 5 minutes to go, solid passing from Sara Moreland to Hilary West brought Lynsey Stevenson into play. Lynsey took the ball round the Pegasus keeper and looked to put it over the line but the Pegasus defence came to their keeper’s rescue. In a game that could have gone either way Pegasus won 1-0.
